• This indicator is really simple! Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work though! Simple things often are better and this is the case when its true. On the other hand as it’s been said in the article, combining SMA with some other things may work even better. For example you can make a notice where the trend goes on a 1 hour timeframe and then apply SMA on a 5 minutes chart. Then only open trades in a direction of a higher timeframe. Easy! This is really nice that Olymp offers all the necessary tools of technical analysis at one place!

  • That is correct way when using this indicator or any other indicator. Combine it with other indicators to get a clearer signal.

• Sounds like simple moving average is really simple. The article recommends to use 3 liquid currencies and gold, but looks like it makes sense to apply this indicator to crude oil and bitcoin as well. Olymp offers lots of different assets to trade (thanks guys!), but I personally prefer EURUSD, USDJPY, gold and oil.

• Simple moving average is probably the most simple and similarly the most useful tool that one can use when trading digital options. I personally love bollinger bands as well and combine these two indicators. Its also important to notice that Olymp trade allows choosing longer options expiration time and my personal advice to all newbies would be getting patient enough to trade at least 1 hour expiration time options. Its difficult to wait long, but you will finally get rewarded with consistent profits if you do that, instead of trading every 3 minutes.

• I like the idea to use SMA! I found it on Olymp Trade platform and learned how to apply. But I didn’t understand why we should choose only EURUSD, EURJPY, GBPUSD, XAUUSD currencies. Won’t the strategy work on other currency pairs?

  • Of course! It can be used on any asset. Please try using it in the demo account first. Try on various assets and see which one suits your trading style.

• Olymp Trade provides a lot of indicators and sometimes it's hard to choose one of them to be guided with. The common error is to try combining 5-7 indicators and, of course that just creates the mess. I can't say that SMA is my favourite indicator, I prefer more classic MACD and Williams %R, but I think SMA can be applied and be useful. However, if you used to one indicator, that's better don't switch them, as well as don't create mess by trying to combine tens of indicators. All top-traders agree with 2 things: you should predict the trend (don't rely on technical analysis only) and don't use too much indicators, 2-3 indicators are more than enough.

  • Using too many indicators will sometimes give the wrong signal. Or you may be confused with the given signal. So try to avoid using too many indicators to avoid errors.

• Is it really critical to use only 5 minutes timeframe to trade this strategy? I normally choose 1 minute candles trading with Olymp and I thought that its easier to predict the nearest future. Could it happen that I’m wrong on this point?

  • It all depends on your comfort. Some are comfortable with 1min trade time, some are afraid of trade time that is too fast. So do a lot of practice in the demo to see which one you are comfortable with.

• SMA strategy is extremely good in Olymp Trade Forex. To use the SMA strategy correctly, one of the periods must be longer, the other half as long. For SMA lines, I usually set the period to 5, the other to 17. We also need some kind of oscillator. I use RSI, but I think it can be replaced with any other indicator.
  It turns out that the averages will show me the trend appearance, and RSI, as an indicator of the sideways market and will confirm the signal to prevent fake signals.
  If I read this 2 years ago, I would think that's insane, but with Olymp Trade webinars that was easy to catch.

• Saya tidak suka SMA. Lebih baik untuk gunakan strategi stokastik + MACD tetapi ini hanyalah pendekatan saya. Ianya sangat hebat kerana terdapat banyak ulasan Olymp Trade Malaysia dalam talian jadi tiada masalah untuk membaca kebaikan dan keburukan serta memilih indikator yang terbaik untuk strategi perdagangan tertentu. SMA ialah indikator prapasang di platform Olymp Trade di antara banyak lagi indikator yang semuanya boleh didapati dengan akaun demo jadi ianya okey untuk cuba setiap satu daripadanya dan tentukan yang terbaik untuk diaplikasikan dalam perdagangan wang sebenar.
